Table Mountain
Table Mountain offers something for everyone – magnificent views, cable car rides, hiking, serious rock climbing, cross country running, fascinating botany, birding and for the more adventurous, abseiling and paragliding. Go by Cable Cart or hiking.
Robben Island
Robben Island is roughly 12 kilometres from Cape Town and has been used for a place of exile for more than 400 years. Since 1997 Robben Island has been a museum acting as a focal point of South African heritage. Daily tours rides are offered from the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town, weather permitting. The island was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999.
V&A Waterfront
The Waterfront provides a variety of entertainment for the whole family.
There are 38 national monuments, Waterfront walks, tours, boat trips and harbour cruises, helicopter flips, seaplane rides, a working brewery and numerous restaurants.
The Two Oceans Aquarium is also situated at the Waterfront and is Africa's largest aquarium.
Cape Point and the Cape Peninsula National Park
Cape Point is the most southwesterly point of Africa. It is where the cold Beguela current on the West coast and the warm Agulhus current on the East coast merge. It is situated in the 22 100 hectare Table Mountain National Park, which is declared as a natural World Heritage Site.
One of the highest sea cliffs in the world (249 m above sea level) is sittuated at Cape Point.
There are 26 recorded shipwrecks and is also a bird watcher's paradise with at least 250 species.
Situated at the south-western tip of Africa is the Table Mountain National Park (TMNP). It encompasses the incredibly scenic Table Mountain Chain stretching from Signal Hill in the north to Cape Point in the south and the seas and coastline of the peninsula.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
Kirstenbosch is one of the world's leading botanical gardens. It is situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain and covers 528 hectares. The gardens includes a cultivated garden and a nature reserve. A part of Jan van Riebeeck's original almond hedge is still viewable.

Visit some of the many wine farms, or stroll down a beautifully restored street in one of the historical town centres and visit the museums and monuments that pay homage to our proud history.
The excellent wines produced in this area are world-renowned. Join the winemaker on a tour of his cellar where the harvest is lovingly transformed into every wine lover's delight.

Take a drive around the Peninsula starting at the V&A Waterfront, Clifton, Lundadno, Hout Bay, Chapmans Peak coming back to Simonstown, Fish Hoek and Muizenberg.
Hout Bay
Hout Bay is one of the most beautiful and popular places on the Cape Peninsula and a highlight of any visit to Cape Town. The access road that runs from Camps Bay, offers a beautiful drive all along the sea. The town lies picturesquely in a wind-protected bay, surrounded in the west by the Karbonkel Mountain, the famous Mount Sentinel as the outpost in the sea and in the east, by the Constantia Mountains and Chapman's Peak.
Whale Watching at Hermanus
Hermanus is built along the shores of Walker Bay near the Southern most tip of Africa. Magnificent mountains watch over the town which is home of the Southern Right Whale. Nature lovers from all over the world visit Hermanus to view these magnificent creatures from the best land based whale watching destination in the world.
